The Gable Farms Story

GABLE FARMS is a concept in progress for our family as we establish ourselves as part of the community of Riverside, California. Located in Riverside's Historic Citrus Preserve, the farm will serve as a working day program for adults with cognitive disabilities. Opportunities on the farm will allow these adults to explore a variety of passions, including gardening, animal care, woodworking and cooking. Our vision is to offer career paths, a place where employees can develop skills in areas of THEIR interest and choice, creating and selling the products of their creation.

Seventeen years ago, our son Joshuah (now twenty) was diagnosed with autism. We have dedicated our lives to education and research for the best supports available for him, and as he nears the end of his educational career, the lack of opportunities available for adults with disabilities has compelled us to begin this adventure. We bring our combined skills (as a special education teacher and a woodworking craftsman) to the table to bring this new chapter in our story to life, and we are both excited and blessed to have you join us on this journey....
